What is the #1 difference between companies and hiring managers that are successfully landing candidates in today’s hiring climate versus the ones who are consistently missing out on top talent?

Flexibility.

The staffing market has changed dramatically in the past 16 months and the companies that continue to “win” are the ones that have adapted and have flexibility to work from home, flexibility to a hybrid schedule and flexibility on title and outside of the box perks.

When I take a new job order and hear about a 4 step interview process, 100% in the office 5 days a week or a tight salary range, I know a reality check is right around the corner…

Yes, some companies have tight internal equity restraints.
Yes, some companies like old school approaches of working in the office everyday to micromanage their staff.

But also…

If candidates are interviewing with you, they are interviewing at 5+ other companies that do value them.

The perfect candidate doesn’t exist. If you want to compete for talent, be flexible, be creative on fringe perks and act decisively.
